Facial thread veins or broken veins (telangiectasia) are small superficial red, purple or blue veins that usually occur around the nose but can spread out onto the rest of the face. Thread veins occur when the vein dilates and becomes large enough to be visible through the transparency of the skin.

They are caused by a variety of factors including exposure to sunlight, wind and extremes of temperature. The over use of steroid creams and certain auto immune conditions may also induce thread veins, yet often the exact cause is undeterminable.

THREAD VEIN TREATMENTS

  • O.F.F machine The O.F.F system is one of the latest advances in non-surgical treatments and is exclusive to the Dr SW Clinic in the UK. It can be used as a fat dissolving treatment and micro-lipoplasty as well as for the treatment of Telangiectasia (thread veins on the face). The O.F.F system uses Waves in Fractional Flow to create a series of biological effects that are highly suitable for a wide range of treatments .It uses a fixed frequency of 1230kHz, the same frequency used for the therapeutic ultrasounds, as well as for the radiofrequency, however only one active electrode without ground reference is used, therefore diverging from the effects of the ultrasounds and from those of the radiofrequency. This also means it does not damage the surrounding skin or tissue. this gets rid of unwanted fat. The treatment activates a process, which dissolves the fat cells so they can be naturally eliminated by the body.
