Known as The Puppet Face Lift, because it uses string-like threads to achieve its results, the Silhouette Soft Thread Lift works to both lift the underlying tissue and rejuvenate the skin and restore volume. Dr Wakil was one of the very few doctors who treated patients with Silhouette Soft threads when they were first launched in the UK and is very experienced in this procedure. As well as The Puppet Face Lift, he incorporates Silhouette Soft threads into his bespoke Dr SW Face-Lift. The procedure can be used to lift sagging skin and restore volume to the face and neck as well as to contour the jawline.

The Silhouette Soft Thread Lift, uses suture-like threads which are inserted under the skin using a fine needle, without the need for any incisions. The threads have absorbable, bidirectional cones attached to them, which anchor to the tissue and allow it to be lifted. The threads are partly comprised on polylactic acid (PLA), which stimulate new collagen production, further enhancing the results.
The Silhouette Soft lift is ideally suited to those who have started to experience the signs of ageing such as sagging skin, loss of volume and facial folds, such as nose to mouth lines. As no excess skin is removed it is not ideal for those who have a large amount of loose skin on the face or neck. As with any treatment you will need to have a consultation to see if you are suitable for the procedure and to check you do not have any medical conditions that are contraindicated.
The Silhouette Soft lift is minimally invasive and performed using local anaesthetic so any pain or discomfort is minimal.
On average the Silhouette Soft procedure takes about 30 to 60 minutes.
One of the advantages of the Silhouette Soft lift is that it has very little recovery time compared to surgical alternatives. You may have some swelling or bruising for a few days afterwards.
The threads used in the Silhouette Soft lift are very safe and are made from polylactic and glycolic acids that have been used for many years in surgery. They are also biodegradable, which means they are natural broken down and reabsorbed by the body.
Immediately after your treatment you will see an instant lifting effect, which further improves over the following weeks as the effects of the collagen stimulation become visible. This process provides an overall rejuvenation of the skin and facial tissues, which will appear plumper and firmer. The effects of the treatment last around 12-18 months.
