The Obagi range of prescriptive skincare offers a professional skincare range and is considered one of the most effective available. It has over 30 years of clinically proven results to show how it can transform the skin from within to create healthier-looking skin for all skin types. Due to the levels of active ingredients within the topical products, some of them must be prescribed to you by our Doctor, based on assessment of your skin condition, and you will be regularly monitored to ensure that the skincare is working for you.
The full Obagi Medical range includes various skincare regimes and programmes such as Obagi Nu-derm, Obagi-C, Elastiderm etc. which can be used to treat concerns related to ageing, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, acne and rosacea. The daily programmes usually include a regime which starts with cleansers and toners and moves on to active serums, followed by moisturisers and sun protection.
Following a thorough skin analysis, an individually tailored skincare programme can be devised to address your specific concerns. Obagi’s medical grade skincare can be used to address a wide variety of skin concerns including:

How does it work?
The Obagi range of prescriptive skincare has a proven history of effectiveness with over 30 years of clinical study. The Obagi Medical range includes products which can be prescribed to treat fine lines and wrinkles, increased areas of pigmentation, uneven skin texture and the signs of ageing. Within the range there are also products which can be specifically used to treat active acne and rosacea.
A tailored skincare regime can be designed and prescribed to address the specific skin improvement requirements of each individual. As the range includes high levels of active ingredients, which means they work much more effectively than any High Street purchased creams, this also means that they must be prescribed and used under supervision, meaning that we will regularly monitor your progress with the daily Obagi regime created for you.

To determine your suitability for the many products within the Obagi Medical range, you will need to come and see our Doctor for a consultation. During this a full medical history will be taken to determine if there are any medical reasons, including illness, medication or allergies which would make you unsuitable to use any of the active ingredients within the product range. A full physical examination of your skin will also be undertaken, including the use of digital scanners to ascertain specific skin concerns, levels of sun damage and ageing. A bespoke programme of cleansers, actives, moisturisers and sunscreens can then be prescribed for you to apply day and night, as required, to achieve improvements to your skin.
Depending on the specific product, high strength prescriptive skincare will not be prescribed to you if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
As this is a range of topically applied skincare products, there is no pain involved. Some mild stinging or redness may occur as you start to use certain products until your skin is more accommodated to the active ingredients. Significant reactions to the products may result in a change of your prescribed skincare, but this is rare as you usually build up a tolerance as the products start to work on improving your skin.
You will be following an at-home, daily applied skincare routine. In some cases, this will be for a few weeks or months to address a specific concern, after which your prescribed skincare may alter to accommodate the improvements and seek to address other issues after initial correction. Long term, a good skincare routine is vital to maintain healthy skin, so this programme is a long-term commitment with repeat product requirements.
Some of the prescribed products may induce some mild redness or skin peeling, depending on the regime required and as your skin gets used to the active ingredients being used to correct ageing skin. This will be short-lived.
Over time you will notice improvements in your skin as the regime seeks to improve your skin barrier function and the turnover of new, healthy skin cells to replace damaged or aged cells. To maintain healthy skin, we recommend the long term use of products, although some will only be prescribed for use for short periods of time to achieve specific correction, after which you will be placed on a maintenance programme of Obagi products to suit your skin type and needs.
