How does the Forma V RF tightening treatment work?
The VOTIVA Forma V RF vagina tightening treatment uses fractional, bi-polar radiofrequency waves to gently heat the tissue to stimulate new collagen production and cause skin tightening. It can be used both on the outside of the vagina, the labia majora, as well as in the internal vaginal canal to remodel the tissue and improve symptoms associated with vaginal laxity and/or vaginal atrophy.
Settings on the Forma V treatment device mean that the heat can be delivered in a controlled and comfortable manner, in small spots (the fractional delivery) to achieve uniform remodelling of the tissue by contracting collagen and stimulating the body to produce new skin cells to rejuvenate the area.

A full medical history will be taken, including discussions about your sexual activity and any discomfort associated with the function of your vagina. A physical examination will also be required to diagnose symptoms associated with vaginal laxity and atrophy.
During your consultation, our doctor will be able to recommend the safest and most effective treatment options available within The O Concept™, which may include RF tightening, to rebuild both your functional and sexual well-being.
If you have symptoms of vaginal laxity, stress urinary incontinence (SUI), vaginal dryness, painful sexual intercourse (dyspareunia) or poor sexual satisfaction, then fractional radiofrequency tightening with the VOTIVA Forma V could be part of a combined treatment approach for you.
You will be required to come for consultation and treatment at a point in your menstrual cycle when you are not bleeding.
If you are pregnant of breast feeding you will not be suitable for this treatment.
Treatment with VOTIVA Forma V is well-tolerated, with most people experiencing minimal pain, aside from a sensation of heating. The settings on the device can be adjusted to suit each person and their tolerance, whilst also achieving an optimal result. More treatment sessions may be required if you need lower energy settings.
The device has a clever way of automatically monitoring the internal temperature of the vaginal tissues; this is useful for both safety as well as to ensure that the correct temperature is reached to achieve the desired tightening of the genitalia.
VOTIVA Forma V treatment with radio frequency tightening takes approximately 30 minutes per treatment session, where both the internal and external vaginal tissue will be treated.
A programme of 3 separate RF vagina tightening treatment sessions is recommended, spaced two weeks apart. Full treatment is therefore completed over one and a half month period, including a final review appointment. A maintenance treatment programme may also be recommended with a further treatment session planned every year.

There is no real downtime associated with Forma V radiofrequency vaginal tightening and you can return to your normal activities immediately, including sexual intercourse and exercise, should you feel comfortable.
You will continue to experience the sensation of warmth in the vagina for a little while after each treatment session, and it may feel a little tender for up to 24 hours.
You will notice immediate vaginal tissue tightening after your first RF vagina tightening treatment with the VOTIVA Forma V. This is due to contraction of the tissue from the heat delivered.
Continued improvements in the area will occur after each treatment session as new collagen is produced by the body and this both remodels and repairs the vaginal tissue within the internal canal and the outer labia.
